GEO Pricing in 2026: What AI Search Optimization Costs (And What You Get)

Read MoreShopify is the easiest platform to run and the hardest to arrive at from Volusion, because every URL changes and Volusion's options do not look like Shopify's variants. That is the part we are good at. We export the catalog, customers, and orders, reshape products to fit Shopify, design a theme that works on phones, and redirect each old .asp and .htm address to its new page before the switch.

Volusion to Shopify
Two things decide how this migration goes: how your products are reshaped for Shopify's three-option model, and whether every address Google knows is redirected. Our Shopify development team plans both first, with people who built on Volusion for years.
Catalog size, how options and child products are used, customer and order volume, articles, discounts, and integrations reviewed against what Shopify handles natively. If your catalog needs more than three options per product in many places, we will say so and show you the alternatives.
Basic, Grow, or Advanced for most Volusion stores, with Plus only when you need it; Shopify Payments or your own gateway with the transaction fee counted; and taxes, shipping rates, and notifications set to match how you sell today.
Volusion options and option categories are reshaped into up to three Shopify options and as many as 2,048 variants per product, each with its SKU, price, and stock. Child products are folded into their parents, extra detail goes into metafields, and images come across from /v/vspfiles/ with their alt text.
Customer records and the order history are imported so past buyers see their orders and you keep lifetime value. Shopify signs customers in with a one-time code sent by email, so the passwords Volusion cannot hand over are simply not needed.
An Online Store 2.0 theme designed around your catalog and brand, mobile first, with sections your team can rearrange in the editor. The dated template stays behind; the things regular customers look for stay where they expect them. See Shopify web design.
Volusion articles become Shopify blog posts, custom pages become Shopify pages, and category descriptions move onto their collections, with images and internal links fixed along the way.
Reviews, email, shipping, tax, accounting, and loyalty each matched to a well-supported app, with existing reviews and gift card balances moved where the tools allow. We keep the list short so the monthly bill and the page weight stay low.
Shopify uses its own URL structure, so nothing keeps its old address. Every ProductDetails.asp link, -p/ and -s/ path, and article URL is matched to a /products/, /collections/, /pages/, or /blogs/ address and imported as a 301, with titles and descriptions carried across.
A rehearsed switch at a quiet hour, the sitemap submitted, two weeks of daily checks on rankings and orders, and a training session so your team is comfortable in the Shopify admin. Shopify support continues if you want it.
Why merchants move
For a consumer brand with a simple catalog, Shopify is the most comfortable landing after Volusion: little to configure, a great deal already done for you. It asks you to accept its way of modeling products and its URL structure in exchange. We have run both platforms for clients and will tell you plainly which side of that trade your store falls on.
Adding products, running a sale, or building a landing page takes minutes and no code, which matters to owners who have been waiting on Volusion workarounds.
Shop Pay and one-page checkout are standard; Shopify's own study found its checkout converting about 15 percent better on average than other platforms.
Every modern Shopify theme is responsive and fast, a large step from templates designed when most shopping happened at a desk.
Subscriptions, reviews, bundles, loyalty, returns, and marketplace feeds install in minutes and are maintained by their makers.
Social channels, the Shop app, point of sale, and listings with AI shopping assistants all run from the same catalog and inventory.
Products with many option types, a need to control URL structure, or wholesale customer groups translate more directly through Volusion to BigCommerce, the route we run most.
On every Volusion to Shopify migration
Each Volusion store we take to Shopify is held to this list:
Weighing Shopify against another platform for your Volusion store? The neighboring routes are here, along with the free audit that turns nine answers into a task list.
Six steps over four to eight weeks for most stores: check the fit, export and reshape the data, run a test import, design the theme and choose the apps, map and load the redirects, then launch and monitor.
The catalog review, plan choice, redirect approach, and a fixed price. Start with the free migration audit.
Volusion data exported, options and child products restructured as Shopify variants, and extra fields assigned to metafields.
Everything loaded into a development store, counts and samples checked against Volusion, and issues corrected before the real run.
The theme designed and built, apps installed and configured, and articles and pages brought across.
The redirect file imported and crawled, a last sync of orders and customers, and DNS pointed at Shopify during your slowest hour.
Rankings, crawl errors, and orders checked daily for two weeks, the team trained, and Shopify SEO available to build on the new store.
Store owners who traded an aging platform for one they enjoy running, and brought their customers and traffic along.

Send us your Volusion store URL. We will reply with a fit check, the way your products would be modeled on Shopify, a redirect plan, and a fixed price.

They want a platform that is actively developed and simple to operate. Volusion is still online, but it has changed little since the company's 2020 bankruptcy filing, and its templates, checkout, and app selection have fallen behind. Shopify offers a fast responsive storefront, a strong checkout, and a large app ecosystem with very little to maintain.
It depends on the catalog. Shopify suits consumer brands with simple products and owners who want the least possible upkeep. BigCommerce suits catalogs with many option types, stores that want to control their URLs, and wholesale pricing by customer group. We run both routes and recommend one after the audit.
Shopify allows three options per product and up to 2,048 variants. Most Volusion products fit once their options are tidied. Products with more than three option types are split into related products, handled with a product options app, or simplified, and we agree the approach with you for each product family before importing.
Yes, all of them. Shopify places products under /products/ and categories under /collections/, so the old ProductDetails.asp and .htm addresses cannot be kept. Each one is redirected to its new page with a 301 that is loaded and tested before launch, which is what preserves rankings.
No. Their records and order history are imported. Shopify's customer accounts use a one-time code sent by email in place of a password, so a returning customer signs in with their email address and finds their history waiting.
Articles move into a Shopify blog and custom pages become Shopify pages, with images re-hosted and links updated. Their old addresses are redirected as well, so content that attracts search visitors keeps working.
Discounts, gift cards, and basic reviews have native or free options. Wholesale pricing can use Shopify's built-in B2B features, available on every paid plan since April 2026. More specialized needs, such as product options beyond three, advanced shipping rules, or loyalty points, are covered by apps we select and configure.
Plans are $39 for Basic, $105 for Grow, and $399 for Advanced when billed monthly, plus card processing and any apps. Using a gateway other than Shopify Payments adds a fee of 0.6 to 2 percent on those plans. We estimate your full monthly total next to your Volusion costs before you decide.
No. Your Volusion store remains open while the Shopify store is built and tested. On launch day the newest orders and customers are synced, DNS changes at a quiet hour, and the old store stays reachable until the last order is confirmed.
Four to eight weeks for most stores. Cost depends on the catalog, how much product reshaping is needed, the theme, and the number of URLs and apps; typical projects fall in the low to mid five figures. You get a fixed price once the audit is complete.
