BigCommerce accepts some data by CSV and some only through its API, and every source platform shapes data its own way. Our developers write the migration scripts for your store rather than pushing it through a one-size importer, and they inspect the data first, so problems are fixed before the move instead of after it. The work is done by the same team behind our BigCommerce development and BigCommerce API projects.
Every entity in your current store counted and every field given a BigCommerce home before anything moves: product types, options and modifiers, custom fields, categories, brands, customer groups, price lists, order statuses, and the URLs that rank. You review the map and approve it.
Products, SKUs, prices, inventory, weights, images, videos, categories, and brands moved through the Catalog API at full resolution. Variants are rebuilt within BigCommerce's 250 values per option and 600 SKUs per product, and anything larger is restructured with you first.
Accounts, addresses, phone numbers, customer groups, tax exemptions, and store credit imported and linked to their orders. Passwords cannot move between platforms, so we write and schedule the reset email that brings returning customers back in.

Before you migrate data to BigCommerce
Every migration meets an unexpected issue, because no two stores keep their data the same way. These six are the predictable ones, and each is cheap to plan for and expensive to discover after launch.
The control panel exports orders to CSV but cannot import them. A plan built on spreadsheets leaves your order history, lifetime value, and support record behind.
BigCommerce sets plans by trailing twelve-month sales. Historical orders imported without the migration flag count toward that total and can move you up a tier on day one.
No platform releases password hashes BigCommerce can use. A well-timed reset email and a clear login message keep returning customers buying.
250 values per option and 600 SKUs per product. Larger configurable products are split or rebuilt with modifiers before import, never cut short by a tool.
Trial stores cannot import 301 redirects. Upgrade late and launch day opens with broken URLs, so the upgrade goes into the schedule.
