AirRattle.com BigCommerce Redesign: Everything You Need to Know About the AirRattle.com Transformation

• How long did the redesign take?

  Approximately 1 week from start to launch. Since AirRattle was staying on BigCommerce, we didn't need to migrate data or rebuild from scratch, we focused purely on modernizing the storefront design and navigation structure. This allowed us to deliver a complete visual and functional transformation quickly without disrupting their operations.

• Was there any downtime during the redesign?

  No. We worked in a BigCommerce sandbox (staging envoirment) while AirRattle's existing site remained live and operational. Once the redesign was complete and tested, we deployed it during off-peak hours to ensure a seamless transition with zero interruption to sales.

• Did you have to rebuild all their product listings?

  No. All of AirRattle's existing products, inventory data, and customer information stayed intact since they remained on BigCommerce. We focused on redesigning how those products are displayed and discovered, updating templates, navigation, and layout, without touching the underlying product data.

• Can AirRattle update the site themselves now, or do they need a developer?

  They can handle most updates themselves. We built the site so AirRattle's team can easily add products, update content, swap images, and modify homepage sections through BigCommerce's admin panel. They only need developer help for major structural changes or custom functionality additions.

• How did you fix the cut-off banner images without losing their content?

  We rebuilt the homepage layout with properly sized containers and optimized the images to fit correctly within each section. Instead of forcing content into containers that were too small, we designed sections that accommodate the imagery and messaging while maintaining visual balance across desktop and mobile devices.

• Did you keep AirRattle's existing theme or build something custom?

  We designed a modern BigCommerce theme and customized it extensively to solve AirRattle's specific challenges, navigation structure, product showcase areas, and trust-building design elements.

• How did you improve navigation without making the header too cluttered?

  We implemented a clean dropdown menu system that keeps the header visually organized while revealing product categories on hover. This approach gives customers access to all major categories, airsoft weapons, gear, accessories, without overwhelming the page with visible links. It's intuitive for shoppers but doesn't sacrifice the modern, streamlined aesthetic.

• Can this redesign handle mobile shoppers, or is it mainly for desktop?

  It's fully responsive. We designed and tested the site to work seamlessly on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. Since a significant portion of ecommerce traffic comes from mobile, the navigation, product pages, and checkout process all adapt to smaller screens without losing functionality or visual quality.
