Volusion Experts Who Keep Your Store Selling, and Tell You When It Is Time to Move

Volusion still runs a few thousand stores, and most of them need two things: someone who can fix and improve the store they have today, and an honest answer about how long to stay. Our Volusion experts do both, on V1 and V2, with migrations to BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce when the answer is go.

What our Volusion experts do

Volusion Expert Services

Fewer agencies work on Volusion every year, and the merchants who remain often find their old developer gone. We still take Volusion work, from a single broken feature to a full exit plan. Each service links to its own page for the details.

  • Volusion Support & Fixes

Broken checkout steps, template errors, product display problems, and admin issues diagnosed and fixed, with a monthly support plan or on demand. See Volusion support.

  • V1 and V2 Expertise

Volusion runs two different systems: the classic V1 and the V2 rewrite new stores are placed on. They differ in templates, features, and admin, and we work on both without guessing which one you have.

  • Volusion Development

Custom features, template changes, and the workarounds Volusion stores rely on, built by developers who know the platform's limits. See Volusion development.

  • Integrations & API

Inventory, ERP, shipping, and accounting connections through the Volusion API, kept running and documented so they survive a staff change or a migration. See Volusion API integrations.

  • Volusion SEO

Titles, descriptions, URLs, structured data, and content work that gets the most out of what the platform allows, and a clear note of what it does not. See Volusion SEO.

  • Volusion Design Refresh

Template updates that make an older Volusion store look current and work on mobile, without paying for a rebuild on a platform you may leave. See Volusion web design.

  • Speed & Mobile Fixes

Image weight, scripts, and template bloat trimmed so pages load faster on phones, where most of your shoppers are.

  • Data Export & Backup

A complete export of your products, customers, orders, content, and URLs, checked for gaps and kept outside Volusion, so your data is safe whatever you decide.

  • Migration Off Volusion

When it is time, we move the store to BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce with every record reconciled and every URL redirected. Start with the free migration audit.

An honest read for 2026

Should You Stay on Volusion or Leave?

Volusion still operates under Newfold Digital, the company behind Bluehost and HostGator, and it still processes orders. It is also shrinking: about 3,400 live stores in mid-2026, down roughly a fifth in a year. Here is how we help merchants decide.

  • Staying Can Make Sense

If the store sells steadily, the catalog is simple, and nothing you need is missing, a well-maintained Volusion store can keep earning while you plan. We keep it healthy in the meantime.

  • Plan Ahead Either Way

Even if you stay, keep a full data export and a URL list outside Volusion. It costs little now and turns any future move from an emergency into a project.

  • Time to Go: Features You Cannot Get

B2B pricing, subscriptions, modern checkout options, headless storefronts, or apps your competitors use. When the roadmap you need is not on the platform, waiting only adds cost.

  • Time to Go: Rankings Slipping

Older templates, limited structured data, and slow mobile pages hold Volusion stores back in search. If traffic is falling and fixes are not moving it, the platform may be the ceiling.

  • Time to Go: No One to Call

If your developer has moved on and every change is a risk, the store has become fragile. A migration done on your schedule beats one forced by an outage.

  • Where Volusion Stores Go

Most recent departures went to Shopify, then WooCommerce and BigCommerce. The right destination depends on your catalog, B2B needs, and budget; our audit compares them for your store.

Volusion Experts FAQ

Volusion in 2026, V1 and V2, support, SEO, and when to migrate.

Is Volusion still in business in 2026?

Yes. Volusion filed for Chapter 11 in 2020, emerged in 2021, and was acquired by Newfold Digital, the company behind Bluehost and HostGator. The platform still operates and processes orders, though its store count has been falling for several years.

How many stores still use Volusion?

About 3,400 live stores in mid-2026 by StoreLeads' count, down roughly 19 percent from a year earlier. More stores leave each quarter than arrive.

What is the difference between Volusion V1 and V2?

V1 is the classic platform many long-running stores still use. V2 is a ground-up rewrite launched in 2018 that new merchants are placed on, with a different admin, templates, and feature set. Fixes and integrations differ between them, so we confirm which one you run first.

Can you support my Volusion V1 store?

Yes. We support both V1 and V2 stores with fixes, development, integrations, SEO, and design work, by the month or by the job.

Should I leave Volusion?

Not automatically. If the store sells steadily and has what you need, maintaining it while you plan is reasonable. If you need features the platform lacks, rankings keep slipping, or no one can safely change the store, it is time to plan a move. Our free migration audit lays out both paths for your store.

Where do Volusion stores usually migrate?

Recently, most went to Shopify, followed by WooCommerce and BigCommerce. The right choice depends on your catalog size, B2B needs, integrations, and budget, and we compare them for your store in the audit.

Will moving off Volusion hurt my SEO?

Not when it is done properly. Every indexed URL is mapped and redirected one to one, titles and descriptions move with each product, and rankings are watched for weeks after launch. Many stores rank better after leaving because the new platform gives more control over speed, URLs, and structured data.

Can you improve SEO on my Volusion store?

Yes, within what the platform allows: titles, descriptions, URLs, content, image weight, and structured data where the template supports it. We will also tell you which limits are the platform's, so you can weigh fixing against moving.

How much do Volusion experts cost?

It depends on the work: a single fix is quoted by the job, ongoing help runs as a monthly support plan, and a migration is a fixed price after the audit. There are no long contracts.

Is my Volusion data safe?

Your data stays on Volusion while you are there, and we recommend keeping a full export of products, customers, orders, content, and URLs outside the platform. We make and check that export as part of every engagement.
