Challenges Faced

Tek-Stock LLC, an Authorized Stocking Distributor for AmphenolCIT since 1991, approached us with the need for a comprehensive redesign of their BigCommerce website. While their previous platform provided basic functionality, it failed to effectively convey the strength of their brand identity or highlight their position as an industry leader. The challenge lay in creating a modern, visually cohesive site that would accurately represent the prestige and expertise Tek-Stock has built over decades.

The homepage, while functional, lacked the design elements needed to meet the expectations of B2B audience. It was essential to craft a concise, user-focused experience where visitors could intuitively find the information and products they needed without being overwhelmed by unnecessary content.

Another challenge was the product pages, which required significant modernization. The previous product pages did not display key information effectively and lacked critical elements such as customer reviews, which are vital for building trust and establishing credibility. Additionally, international customers often faced issues due to incomplete requirements when purchasing items. Addressing this problem became a priority, and we introduced a specific notice for international customers to ensure clarity and compliance.

We added a dedicated "Key Specifications" section placed prominently next to the product descriptions to improve the product pages further. This section was implemented using custom fields to ensure easy management.

By identifying these challenges, our expert BigCommerce web designers and web developers worked collaboratively to craft a solution that modernized Tek-Stock’s digital presence, improved functionality, and enhanced usability. Leveraging BigCommerce Stencil technology, we aimed to create a design that aligns with Tek-Stock’s goals while delivering an intuitive and visually engaging experience for their customers.

We began our redesign process by overhauling the homepage to establish Tek-Stock’s credibility as an Authorized Stocking Distributor for AmphenolCIT. The homepage design incorporated sections that showcased Tek-Stock’s key strengths, such as their specialized products, while using visuals and descriptions to guide users effectively to specific categories. Understanding their B2B industry audience, we focused on crafting a concise homepage that directed users quickly to the information and products they needed, rather than overwhelming them with unnecessary promotional content. The result was an experience tailored to Tek-Stock’s professional and informed customer base.

The product pages were designed to address usability and engagement challenges. A “Key Specifications” section was introduced using custom fields, ensuring that critical product details were prominently displayed and easy to update. This feature not only provides customers with essential product information but also supports SEO efforts by incorporating valuable text-based content that boosts search engine visibility. Scalability was also a major focus in designing this feature. Should Tek-Stock upgrade their platform in the future, the custom fields for "Key Specifications" can be seamlessly integrated into the advanced filtering options on an upgraded platform.

To build trust and credibility, we added customer reviews as social proof for potential buyers. A customized notice for international customers provided clear instructions for completing required forms, resolving issues with incomplete orders and streamlining the process.
