Budget Heating & Air Conditioning, faced multiple challenges when they approached us for assistance with their website. Their previous site, developed years ago, By MAKDigital, on the Volusion platform, had become outdated and no longer met the standards of a modern eCommerce user experience. As a leader in the HVAC industry, Budget Heating recognized the need for a redesign and migration to the BigCommerce platform to reflect their brand’s authority and prestige better.
The old website was not user-friendly and made navigation difficult for visitors. Key design elements were missing, such as prominently showcasing top brands—a critical factor in an industry driven by well-known names in heating and AC supplies. Additionally, the homepage lacked a clear representation of their wide range of product categories, resulting in missed opportunities to engage users and drive conversions.
Performance issues further compounded the problems, as some pages took as long as five seconds to load. This sluggish performance not only hurt website user engagement but also negatively impacted their conversion rate. In today’s fast-paced digital environment, slow-loading pages can drive potential customers away, making site speed optimization a crucial aspect of the website redesign.
Their product pages also presented usability issues. Customer reviews, a critical tool for building buyer confidence, were buried within the pages and not easily accessible.
