Who is Derya Arms?

Derya Arms is a well-known Turkish firearm manufacturer, now expanding into the U.S. market. They needed a digital presence that would reflect their brand prestige and help them compete in the American firearms industry. Therefore, they partnered with MAKDigital to create their first-ever U.S. flagship website.

Main Objectives of the Website Build:

  • Design and build a modern, competitive U.S. flagship site from scratch
  • Ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience for customers
  • Optimize the site for speed, SEO, and mobile users
  • Direct users to certified Derya Arms dealers through a dealer locator for non-purchasable items

Design and Functionality Overview

Derya Arms wanted a website that reflected their brand’s prestige while also offering a sleek, mobile-friendly design for U.S. customers. As this was their first U.S. website, it was crucial to meet their vision with precision and creativity. Through close collaboration with Derya Arms and leveraging the expertise of our BigCommerce designers, we successfully transformed their vision into reality.

For the homepage, we focused on creating a visually striking and engaging experience that would immediately captivate potential customers. To achieve this, we used high-quality images and integrated video content to highlight Derya’s products. Moreover, we added a “Featured Categories” section to draw users deeper into the product catalog. This section uses compelling imagery to make navigation seamless and visually engaging.

On the product pages, we introduced customizable boxes. These allow Derya Arms to easily update visuals, descriptions, and other content without the need for a developer. This flexibility ensures that they can keep their product page structure fresh and relevant. In addition, we developed two templates: one for non-purchasable firearms that links users to local dealers via an integrated dealer locator, and another for purchasable items.

Since this was Derya’s first website in the U.S. market, it was imperative to establish a strong digital presence. Consequently, optimizing the website for search engines was crucial to reaching their target audience. Research consistently shows that a significant portion of potential buyers, including those in the firearms industry, begin their purchasing journey with an online search. This made SEO a top priority. Therefore, we implemented search engine optimization strategies and focused on page speed to provide a seamless user experience, which is essential for keeping users engaged and reducing bounce rates.

Moreover, user experience was central to the entire design process, not only in terms of site navigation but also in terms of functionality. Features such as the sticky “Add to Cart” button and the product comparison tool were designed to enhance customer convenience. As a result, these features help customers compare multiple products, streamlining their decision-making process and ensuring a smoother shopping experience.

With these elements in place, Derya Arms is now positioned to effectively compete in the U.S. market and make a significant impact in the firearms eCommerce space.
